George Pierrakos, PhD., MA and BA, is first rank Professor of Primary Health Care Management in the Department of Business Administration (Social Policy Unit) at the University of West Attica. He also serves as the Deputy Director of the Social Administration Research Lab, acting as Head of its Health Care Research Hub.
He has undertaken research and teaching since 2006 at the Athens University of Applied Sciences, the University of Leeds, the Hellenic National School of Public Administration and Local Government and the Hellenic National Centre for Social Research in areas relating to health and social care. He has also been providing services both to central administration services and local authorities in the context of high level policy, capacity building and research projects in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkan region (sectors: health, social care, employment, social entrepreneurship and third sector).
His research interests focus on the management of health, social care, anti-poverty, employment and social entrepreneurship schemes; he is author and co-author of four books and has published in international edited books and journals.
