PhD Students

SARL supports research agendas of students enrolled in the PhD Programme of the Social Policy Unit in the Department of Business Administration (University of West Attica), who perform original research for doctoral dissertations related to its thematic research agendas: a) social insurance, b) social welfare, c) social inclusion, d) health care and mental health, e) employment and labour relations, f) education, g) vocational training and life – long learning, h) occupational welfare (including second pillar pensions), i)  social economy and social entrepreneurship, j) social housing and k) history and ideology of the social state.

These PhD students are members of SARL and participate in activities relevant to their doctoral research objectives.

Vasilis Chronopoulos

Vasilis Chronopoulos, ΜSc in Management Research and BA in Economics, is a PhD student of the Social Policy Unit in the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Attica (PhD title: “The role of social entrepreneurship as a tool for increasing employment and tackling poverty and Social exclusion in the local community”).

He is currently a senior manager of social enterprises, and he has been providing consultancy and training services to NGOs and social economy organizations.

His research interests focus on the development of social economy and social entrepreneurship, the regulation of third sector initiatives and social welfare.

Lambros Labrinidis

Lampros Lamprinidis, ΜSc in Financial Management and BA in Economics, is a PhD student of the Social Policy Unit in the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Attica (PhD title: “The role of socially responsible public procurement in the development of social economy regimes”). He has graduated from the National School of Public Administration and Local Government (specialty: Public Administration and Financial Management).

He is currently a permanent employee in the Ministry of Digital Governance and a lecturer at the National School of Public Administration and Local Government in areas relating to human resource development of the public sector.

His research interests focus on the development of social entrepreneurship and social innovation policies.

Nikolaos Yfantopoulos

Nikolaos Yfantopoulos, ΜSc in Informatics & Telematics and BA in Information Systems, is a PhD student of the Social Policy Unit in the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Attica (PhD title: “Quality Management in public, occupational and private pension funds”).

He is currently an IT private market expert, and he has been providing IT consultancy and training services to health care organizations.

His research interests focus on the development of Quality Management models in the administration of public, occupational and private pension funds; he has published in Greek and international journals.
